Camp Stien

Catie and Jackson spent two weeks with Grandma and Grandpa Stien up in Eau Clarie. They kept them so busy with activities and showering them with attention that they did not even want to come home! Next summer, we are having a buy two get one free sale if anyone is interested.
 

 

Grandpa's Convertible

The kids got to ride in the convertible with the "roof off"! 

 

Jackson loves riding the old 70's Stingray in Eau Clarie because he can ride around the block and over to the school all by himself.

Grandpa made the kid's day by taking them for motorcycle rides each night before bed.

The kids spent the mornings of  the first week at "Nature Nuts" camp and learned all kinds of things about nature. Catie taught us how to tell the difference between girl and boy fireflies.  The girl fireflies light up on the ground and boy fireflies light-up while they are flying...who knew!

The kids spent a day at Jody's farm.  They got to see a baby chick and pet the horses.

The kids rubbed the barn cat's tummy and tickled her with a long pieces of grass. Evidently, they loved making the cat paw and bite at the grass.

How am I going to milk one of these things??

 Catie loved the German Shepherd Abby. She lives on Jody's farm and they became fast friends.

 

Catie likes to torment her brother and calls this picture "bunny ears."

 Catie and Jill's dog Calvin became best friends.  Here they are at Phoenix Park, sitting on Uncle Todd's bench.  Catie got to take Calvin for a walk and then threw sticks in the water for Calvin to retrieve.  They even went for ice cream cones after the park which they both enjoyed!

During their last week in Wisconsin, they spent time at the Herbster cabin. The cabin is on Lake Superior and has a bear den right on the property! 

Jackson loved the ATV and drove it all over the trails with grandpa riding on the back.

 Jimmy the bear has lived on the property for several years and is used to Uncle John feeding him by hand. Jackson even got to examine Jimmy's calling card close up.

Grandpa strikes again with his creative play ideas. The old extinguish the burning building with the toy fire truck game never gets old!

Grandpa took the kids to Big Falls...

...and they loved swimming through the mighty rapids.

 

Back at the cabin, Jackson is getting ready for a kayak on Lake Superior with Uncle John.

"This kayaking is tricky business!"

 

The dynamic duo loved their trip to Action City to play video games, putt putt and all the other activities.
